The method allows the identification of internal defects that cause reflection, deviation or absorption of an ultrasonic beam. Magnetoscopy is a type of non-destructive control used to search for surface and subsurface indications in metal pieces. It is based on the deviation that the lines of the induced magnetic field undergo in the presence of a discontinuity.
Non-destructive control by penetrating liquids is a type of control which allows to check the integrity of a sample and to detect the presence of superficial or subsurface defects thanks to the application of a particular type of liquid that can penetrate inside the defectiveness. Ultratest s.r.l. carries out inspections and controls both in colour contrast and with the help of Wood lamps (fluorescent penetrants).
Non-destructive control by visual examination is used when checking the integrity of a particular item by using the human eye as an instrument, either naked or by using instruments that allow to increase the quality of the image to be observed, like magnifying glasses, photographs or video systems. Ultratest s.r.l is able to perform remote inspections through the appropriate visual tools.
The principle on which Radiography and Industrial Radioscopy are based is the attenuation variation that electromagnetic radiation undergoes when they encounter a defect in their path through the material. The field of application for these techniques is very wide and includes the inspection of welding (full penetration), cast iron castings, steel castings, composite materials, plastics etc... Ultratest s.r.l. performs film radiography and digital radiography using CR (Computer Radiography) and DR (Direct Radiography) systems.
